Round Dhaulagiri Trek

Round Dhaulagiri Trek is one of the most arduous walking adventures in the Nepal Himalayas. Located in the western reaches of the Annapurna region, this trek takes trekkers to the foot of the white mountain -- the 7th tallest mountain in the world. The trail passes through beautiful terraced fields, lush forests, alpine vegetation, lateral moraine, glaciers and snow-covered slopes. The Hidden Valley, which is located between French and Dhampus passes, is among many attractions of this trek. One can enjoy spectacular views of the famous Dhaulagiri massif which is home to several peaks like Tukuche Peak (6,920m), Dhaulagiri I (8,167m), Dhaulagiri II (7,751m), Dhaulagiri III (7,715m) and Dhaulagiri V (7,618m). The trek offers you with an opportunity to absorb and experience of the Magar and Thakali culture and lifestyle up close. The trail passes through three base camps -- Italian, Dhampus and Dhaulagiri -- used by mountaineering expeditions attemting Dhaulagiri. The trek begins with a flight to Pokhara and drive to the trail head at Darbang. It then passes through the settlements of Dharapani, Muri and Boghara before dropping to the gorge of Myagdi Khola river and continuing to the moraine of Dhaulagiri glacier. The trail then goes beyond the Dhaulagiri massif, offering you surreal views all around, before dropping to the Hidden Valley after crossing French Pass. It then descends to the Kali Gandai Valley after crossing the Dhampus Pass.
