Overview

Round Manaslu Trek, which is also branded as Manaslu Circuit Trek, was explored and promoted as an alternative to the busy Annapurna Circuit Trek which was shortening with the construction of road in both ends. But the trek has developed its own identity today as the trek offers superior mountain views, involves crossing of a high Himalayan pass, and passes through remote villages, terraced lands, thick woods, and glacier walk among others. The region is home to Gurungs who are heavily influenced from Tibetan Buddhism. Mani walls, Kani, chhortens and monasteries show the influence of Tibetan Buddhism in the area. The main attraction of the trek is Mount Manaslu -- the eight highest mountain in the world. The trek offers the closest possible view of this beautiful mountain climbed for the first time by the Japanese. The region is hope to different wild species like Blue sheep, Musk deer, Himalayan chamois, Clouded Leopard, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear and Himalayan Griffin Vultures, among others.
